Information on Zinc Sulphate Monohydrate
Zinc Sulphate Monohydrate is an inorganic compound and is offered in two grades, the other being Zinc Sulphate Heptahydrate. Zinc Sulphate is freely soluble in water and is incompatible with strong oxidizing agents. Zinc is naturally found in the Earth’s crust and is an inherent part of our environment. The average natural level of zinc in the Earth’s crust is 70 mg/kg (dry weight), with a range between 10 and 300 mg/kg.
Synthesis / Manufacturing Process of Zinc Sulphate
The main raw material is Sulphuric Acid. Sulphuric Acid is manufactured by oxidizing Sulphur Dioxide gas to Sulphur Trioxide, which is then hydrated. Zinc Sulphate is prepared from the reaction of Sulphuric Acid and Zinc Oxide.

It has applications in the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries as a source of zinc in formulations. It is also used in agriculture for fertilization, in zinc plating (metal treatment industry), and as a mordant in dyeing.
