Ferrous Bis Glycinate is a green amorphous spray-dried powder that is highly hygroscopic. It is used in the treatment of iron-deficiency anemia in infants and young children. It should be stored in tightly closed containers away from heat.
Synthesis / Manufacturing Process of Ferrous Bis Glycinate
It is manufactured by reacting reduced iron with glycine in the presence of citric acid. At chemical equilibrium, the ferrous ions become chelated. The resulting product is spray-dried to get a fine amorphous powder.
