DIPOTASSIUM PHOSPHATE
Product Category: PHOSPHATES
Product: DIPOTASSIUM PHOSPHATE Product Code: F004
Information on Potassium Acetate
Dipotassium Phosphate is a derivative of Phosphoric Acid. It is a white, deliquescent powder that decomposes at 465∘C. It should be stored in tightly closed containers at room temperature.
Synthesis / Manufacturing Process of Acetates
The major raw material is Phosphoric Acid, which is manufactured from Rock Phosphates. The phosphoric acid slurry is mixed with sulfuric acid, which is added to a series of reactors as a leaching agent. After the reaction, the process stream is washed with evaporator condensate while being forced through a filter. The filter cake is primarily composed of gypsum (CaSO4.2H2O). The phosphoric acid is concentrated to 25-100% by a series of evaporators and then cooled. Dipotassium Phosphate is manufactured by a reaction between Potassium Hydroxide and Phosphoric Acid.
