ACETATES
BARIUM ACETATE
Product Category: ACETATES
Product: BARIUM ACETATE Product Code: A008
Information on Barium Acetate
Barium Acetate is a derivative of Acetic Acid. Barium Acetate is soluble in water. The melting point of Barium Acetate is 450°C. It should be stored in tightly closed containers in a Room Temperature.
Synthesis / Manufacturing Process of Acetates
The major raw material for all the acetates is Glacial Acetic Acid. Acetic Acid was initially prepared by aerobic fermentation of Ethanol. Ethanol was catalytically oxidized to Acetaldehyde, which in turn oxidized to Acetic Acid. Today Acetic Acid is prepared by carboxylating methanol. Acetic Acid is present as a catalyst. Barium Acetate is manufactured by taking a reaction between Barium Carbonate & Acetic Acid.
