Soyatone is an enzymatic digest of Soya for use in preparing microbiological culture media.
Synthesis / Manufacturing Process of Soya Peptone
Soya Peptones are manufactured by enzymatic hydrolysis of selected vegetal raw materials rich in proteins. The enzymatic preparations traditionally used have long been based on natural active materials such as Papain (an extract from the Papaya Tree Latex). Biotech enzymes obtained by fermentation are more and more in use nowadays.
Specifications:
Appearance: Off white to yellowish colour free flowing powder having characteristic Soya odour.
Solubility (2% Solution @ 25°C): Completely soluble in distilled water, clear.
Clarity (2% Soln. at 121 °C): Absolute clear solution. No ppt.
Loss on Drying (105°C): NMT-6.0%.
pH (2% Solution at 25 °C): 6.0-7.0.
Total Nitrogen (DWB): NLT-12.5%.
