ZINC ACETATE DIHYDRATE
Product Category: ACETATES
Product: ZINC ACETATE Product Code: A012
Information on Zinc Acetate Dihydrate
Zinc Acetate is a derivative of Acetic Acid and is a white crystalline powder. It is freely soluble in water and should be stored in tightly-closed containers at room temperature.
Synthesis / Manufacturing Process of Acetates
The major raw material for all acetates is Glacial Acetic Acid. Historically, Acetic Acid was made by the aerobic fermentation of Ethanol, which was then oxidized to Acetaldehyde and subsequently to Acetic Acid. Today, it is prepared by carbonylating methanol in the presence of a catalyst. Zinc Acetate is manufactured by a reaction between Zinc Hydroxide and Acetic Acid.
