Synthesis / Manufacturing Process of ATMP Pentasodium

The primary raw materials used to manufacture ATMP are acetic anhydride and either phosphorus acid or phosphorus Trichloride. The phosphorus trichloride is converted to phosphorus acid within the reaction vessel, and then reacts with the acetic anhydride.

3H3PO3 NH4Cl HCHO →ATMP CO2 3H2O
Hydrochloric acid is collected as a By-Product.
