Gelatine Peptones are manufactured by the enzymatic hydrolysis of selected gelatine raw materials. The enzymatic preparations have traditionally been based on natural active materials like Pork pancreas extract (Pancreatin powder) or Pepsin. Today, biotech enzymes obtained by fermentation are increasingly used.
