Product Category: PHOSPHATES
Product: DISODIUM PHOSPHATE Product Code: F006
Information on Disodium Phosphate
Disodium Phosphate is a derivative of phosphoric acid. It is a white crystalline powder that is freely soluble in water. It decomposes at 220∘C and should be stored in tightly closed containers at room temperature.
Synthesis / Manufacturing Process of Disodium Phosphate
The major raw material for all phosphates is phosphoric acid, which is manufactured from rock phosphates. The phosphoric acid slurry is mixed with sulfuric acid, which is added to the reactor as a leaching agent. After the reaction, the process stream is washed with evaporator condensate and filtered. The filter cake is composed primarily of gypsum (CaSO4.2H2O). Disodium Phosphate is manufactured by reacting Sodium Hydroxide with Phosphoric Acid.
